We are happy to announce that the Cardona Lab is part of an interdisciplinary team of researchers from Brazil and Latin America, and researchers from Portugal funded by the prestigious international initiative “Global Grand Challenges – Gr-ADI (Gram-Negative
Antibiotic Discovery Innovator), funded by the Gates Foundation (FG), Wellcome and Novo
Nordisk Foundation”.
The project is led by researcher Marisa Fabiana Nicolás, from the Bioinformatics Laboratory of the National Laboratory of Scientific Computing (LNCC/MCTI) and will combine artificial intelligence (AI), molecular modeling, bioinformatics and biological experimentation to identify and validate new therapeutic targets and promising antimicrobial molecules against multi-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae.
